Beasley & Henley Woo Entry-Level Homebuyers with High-End Innovations

Beasley & HenleyBuilders may be cutting back on square footage to make homes more affordable, but designers like Beasley & Henley Interior Design are making sure that what they lose in size, they make up for in innovation.

Defining Purpose for the Stop and Drop

That messy spot by the garage where backpacks, baseball gloves, and shoes were dropped on the floor used to be a problem area. Contemporary designers have transformed this so-called “stop-and-drop” into a main feature of floor plan design – and it helps sell homes.Shelving, built-in storage, and lots of hooks give the space a defined purpose, and in the hands of the right designer, this small nook can take on a high-end look. Beasley & Henley Interior design recently won the award for “Stop-and-Drop as Best Feature” for their Mattamy Homes model in Central Florida. Located in Azalea Coves and priced from the mid-$100,000s, the model features the best of a small floor plan, including an indispensible stop-and-drop for organizing a busy family.

Turning Up The Kitchen

Kitchens are a pivotal selling point for homes at all price ranges. Beasley & Henley’s Gold-winning kitchen upgrade of the Rivertown model of Mattamy Homes in Jacksonville, FL, included a combination of painted and stained cabinets, usually only seen in higher-end homes. Of particular note was the designer’s use of glass cabinet door insets instead of solid wood cabinetry doors. The custom and fresh look of glass was the turning point from a typical kitchen to a “wow” kitchen.

The Shared Space for Media And Gaming

Another hot commodity is the family gaming room often seen in loft homes. Beasley & Henley won the top Gold Award for another Mattamy model, The Laurel at Greenleaf Village in Jacksonville, FL, where the designers created a fun and comfortable gaming room with dedicated space for electronics, different sizes of controllers, specialty TV equipment, and a very large-screen TV for gaming and movies. Through their gaming room, the designers were able to address the modern family’s media needs while offering a space where they could spend time together.

Ideas For The “Flex Room”

The “flex space” is a recent idea seen incorporated into family home plans. The flex space is a room without a pre-determined purpose. Giving homeowners the freedom to do what they want with it is a great idea, but it can also be confusing.  In a recent model, Beasley & Henley turned a small flex space at the front of a house into a “Chat Space”, a room with just a few comfy chairs and vibrant artwork where neighbors or friends can have a short chat instead of standing by the front door.  Flex spaces can also serve as home offices or as rooms dedicated to schoolwork, hobbies, exercise, or any number of family needs. There are a number of good builders vying for the business of entry- and mid-level homebuyers.  It takes a good designer, with innovative ideas, to set these homes apart from the rest.

Beasley & Henley Takes First in the Parade Of Homes, Continuing String of Awards

Beasley & HenleyWINTER PARK, Fla. --- Award-winning design firm Beasley & Henley Interior Design’s single-family model for  Mattamy Homes took first place in the recent Home Builders Association (HBA) of Metro Orlando Parade of Homes.  The "Captiva" model townhome in Lake Nona Preserve won in the category of Attached Production Homes Priced under $300,000.Steve Parker, president of Mattamy Homes U.S. Group, said the Orlando division earned the Parade’s Grand Award as the top home builder in the Production Homes category.Beasley & Henley’s Captiva model is a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath, 1,611 square-feet home priced from $177,990. The Captiva’s main appeal to the Parade judges was its open floor plan, with the large kitchen, dining room, gathering room, and foyer on the ground floor and second floor reserved for the three bedrooms.“We think the Captiva model home is the perfect solution for busy families today,” Mattamy’s U.S. president Steve Parker said.Indeed, when Mattamy put out the call for livable, beautiful homes for the modern family, Beasley & Henley met the challenge with a transitional design that appeals to a wide range of demographic groups. The home features earth tones within a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere. Earth tones give the home a sense of warmth and comfort, while various textiles create interest; and where these meet the tile flooring and creative built-ins, sophistication abounds.Through the public relations blitz surrounding the Parade of Homes and beyond, the Captiva model home welcomes visitors daily at the Lake Nona Preserve located off Narcoossee Road in Southeast Orlando.

Beasley & Henley Interior Design Sizzles at Tiburon

Beasley & Henley design of WCI Communities condo garners much attention.

Naples—April 2012—Interior design heavy-hitters Beasley & Henley Interior Design have installed their latest model for WCI Communities, the Marquesa Royale, in the Tiburon development in Naples, Florida. When Beasley & Henley installs a model, people tend to pay attention -- and the Marquesa Royale was no exception.  During the three days when furnishings were being installed in this 2950-square foot luxury condo, people were stopping by in droves. “From the very first day we started to install, we had dozens of people walking in,” said Beasley & Henley designer Dan Killgore. “Even before all the furniture was in place, we had BHID fans looking around, saying hello and admiring what they saw!”Beasley & Henley, with offices in Naples and Winter Park, is known for its sophisticated, livable, and inspiring interiors.  Their much-loved designs help homes sell quickly and inspire individual homeowners to commission Beasley & Henley to create custom designs for their own residences. The designers’ Marquesa Royale interiors feature a color palette of warm grays, tone-on-tone white and creamy neutrals, and pops of bright, sunny gold to appeal to American and European buyers. According to Beasley & Henley principal designer Troy Beasley, “We want the buyers at Tiburon to think, 'This place is fabulous. I could easily spend time here.' "The design is sophisticated and soothing with an eclectic mix of modern abstract art, clean-lined furnishings, reproduced antiques, whimsical accent pieces, and oversized prints on throw pillows and draperies. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath Marquesa is a luxury condo in the prestigious community next to the Ritz-Carleton Golf Resort in Naples. For additional information on the design of this model, or for custom designs, please contact Stephanie Henley at 239.774.1005.

Trends for 2012: Stephanie Henley

trends for 2012Great press on Beasley & Henley and design trends for 2012 from earlier this year.---------------------------------Winter Park, Florida --- Design trends for 2012 are emerging. In the same way that a historian can predict the future, Beasley & Henley has proven time and time again that an interior design firm can use an experienced eye to see what will be “in” – and what will sell. After all, having a grasp on current trends and being able to predict (or create) future trends are how designers make their living.Stephanie Henley, of Beasley & Henley Interior Design, has recently publicized and blogged about colors, fabrics, fixtures and furnishings that will be the artistic selling points of 2012.Modern-only styles of the past decade are out as different eras and textures juxtapose in ways that are fresh and sophisticated. Natural choices and eco-consciousness is almost a given. The dominant color will be grey in warm, light, and charcoal shades; yellow will be a fresh, uplifting complement. While monochrome elements will never go out of style, indigo blue and grass green are nods to nature. Greige is among hot color trends for 2012. Greige refers to raw textiles before dyeing or bleaching and, as a color, stands for a beige-green hybrid. The more earthy brown is losing its draw, and while orange will still be hanging around, purple is on its way out.In what Henley has christened “Paris Flea Market meets Driftwood Salvage”, she describes the furnishing elements that capture a natural and rustic feel that blend different eras for a modern feel. From antiques making a comeback to reclaimed wood furniture and finishes that range from wire-brushed to bleached oak and grey washes. Industrial-feel elements like chrome fittings and repurposed occasional tables or side carts paired with modern pieces will create character for 2012.In addition, Beasley & Henley have picked up on a trend among manufacturers who are making lounge chair seating lower to the ground for 2012. The standard 20 inches will lower to 17 or 18 inches off the floor. Henley muses that this may be to accommodate lower ceilings and smaller houses.Where environmental consciousness will take the big stage is in fabrics. Nubby cottons, loose weaves, and Belgian linens in soft tones, such as warm whites, sandy beiges, light greys, and tans: these fabrics will be accessible and affordable in most price categories. A particularly exciting development will be that many will be dual-purposed and beautiful for both exterior and interior use.Accessories and art trends for 2012 have taken a little less dramatic leap. Reclaimed pieces turned in to lamps, lighting, and other objets d’art; oversized prints, oversized photography, polished and satin brass hardware with a modern flair have carried over from the past couple of years. As for Henley’s confidence in her predictions, she says, “Bring it on, 2012!” Judging by the financial and critical success of Beasley & Henley, she has every reason to be absolutely sure.

Marquesa Royale Penthouse Features Interior Design by Beasley and Henley

Beasley and Henley Interior Design has been selected to create interiors for the new Marquesa Royale luxury penthouse condominium model at Tiburón, a 943-acre resort community neighboring the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.Visitors to the new model may be overcome by a sudden desire for instant gratification. At least, that’s what interior designer Troy Beasley hopes.“This home has an inviting environment that people will enjoy as they walk from room to room,” said Beasley, design principal at Beasley and Henley. “I want them to think, ‘This is fabulous, I could easily spend time here and I want to buy it.’”Beasley and Henley, with offices in Naples and Winter Park, is creating a sophisticated, soft modern design throughout the three-bedroom home’s 2,900 square feet of air-conditioned living space. Its color palette of warm grays, tone-on-tone white and creamy neutrals and pops of bright, sunny gold will appeal to American and European buyers.“It’s sophisticated and soothing, almost like a salon look,” said Beasley, who is accenting the space with an eclectic mix of modern abstract art, clean-lined furnishings, reproduction antiques, whimsical accent pieces and oversized prints on throw pillows and draperies. “The concept reflects a couple who travel and have collected items they love during their travels.” Beasley and Henley’s design also reflects today’s technology and the tendency for entertaining. Instead of a room-filling desk in the media room, the designer opted for a comfortable sofa and small desk. “Most people come to Naples to entertain friends and get away,” Beasley said. “They have laptops or iPads these days and don’t have to be hooked into the wall. They might go online for a few minutes to check email or stocks.”In the kitchen, Beasley and Henley converted a storage area into a bar with an under-counter wine refrigerator, glass tile backsplash and upper cabinets with glass doors, an option offered to homebuyers through WCI’s Design Studio. “It’s the perfect spot for a cocktail area,” he said.“The home’s main rooms are connected visually to make moving about feel natural and effortless,” Beasley added.
